Michael is the Principal and Sr. Consultant of GovIS, LLC which is committed to delivering
innovative solutions with high quality, cost effective services and products to businesses,
non-profit organizations, and government agencies.
Following is a brief description of our services.
- Software Development
GovIS develops custom business software applications to meet your needs. We can assist in
determining the requirements of your application all the way through to supporting your
application after deployment. GovIS utilizes industry standards and best practices in our
development life cycle to ensure the quality and flexibility of your application.
- Database Development
The foundation for a great application is a well designed database. GovIS can assist or fully
design and develop your application’s database with efficiency and flexibility in mind. We also
offer database migration (e.g. MS Access to MS SQL Server) and data conversion services.
- Web Site Development
You have an application, but you want it to be easy to use and look great also. With our graphic
design and user interface engineering background, GovIS can design a user interface for your
application that matches your existing web site style or create a fresh new web site and style
including e-commerce capabilities. GovIS also offers web site, application, and e-mail hosting
services through our Internet Services Division.
- Training and Consulting
If you would like to develop your own application, but require some additional training to reduce
the learning curve, GovIS offers onsite or remote training. We also offer consulting and mentoring
services to assist in the development of your application.

Michael Sumption is the Principal and Sr. Consultant with GovIS, LLC, a software development,
training, and consulting firm and Microsoft Certified Partner (ISV) in Northern California.
GovIS was founded in 2003 and has a global base of customers such as The Walt Disney Company,
Yamaha Motor Corporation, and many others. Michael has been developing software for 20 years
(Visual Studio .NET since 2001, SQL Server since 1994, Crystal Reports since 1996, Infragistics
since 2001, and Iron Speed Designer since 2004). Michael was one of the original Iron Speed MVP's
and is glad to be back.
