Step 6:  Configure Individual Components for Role-Based Security

Location:

Application Explorer

Command:

Tools, Page Properties…

Each web page or component on a page you wish to secure should be configured to accept only those users with the appropriate roles.  Access permissions can be assigned to individual pages within the Application Security Wizard, and for most applications, this is sufficient.  However, in certain cases, you may want to override the page’s access permissions for an individual control.  Access permissions for individual controls must be assigned in the page’s Properties dialog.

Specify access permissions on a component-by-component basis in the page’s Properties dialog.

The roles shown in the Security tab are from the Roles Table you select and configure in the Application Security Wizard.
