Feature transfer error

Problem

You get this error when installing Iron Speed Designer:

Feature transfer error. Error: 0

This is an InstallShield error produced by the installation program that Iron Speed Designer uses for installation.

According to InstallShield, “A "feature transfer error" occurs when the Update Service is enabled using InstallShield 10.5. The installation works perfectly fine before the Update Service is enabled. This error occurs on an Update installation, when the previous version did not have Update Service.”

Solution

Disable all update checking for all InstallShield related products. The procedure for doing so is explained in this InstallShield knowledge base posting:
