If the underlying database type is string-based, you can specify how Boolean values are written to the database. The syntax is the same as Display Format. This means that you can display values one way, but write them to the database another way. For example, you could display True as "Yes" but save it in the database as "T". If the underlying database type is numeric (i.e. bigint, decimal, etc.), the user does not have control over the storage format. True/False values are stored as the numbers 1 and 0. By default, the Boolean column class recognizes the following set of True and False values: True: "True", "T", "Yes", "Y", "1" |

The formats for Iron Speed Designer’s numeric and date field validation types must be valid .NET format strings. The syntax is the same as Display Format. Both standard and custom format strings are permitted, as long as they are considered valid by .NET, as defined in the Microsoft .NET format string documentation:
