Problem

You get the following error when installing Iron Speed Designer:

Error 1335

The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

This error can be caused by a variety of reasons related to the integrity of the installation file or local anti-virus software.

Solution

Step 1: Check the properties of the downloaded installation file to be sure it is properly signed and has not been corrupted. A valid file should a ‘Digital Signatures’ property as follows:

If the file does not have the correct signature, you should download the file again to get a good copy.

Step 2: Local antivirus software may interfere with the installation. Move the installation file to a local disk, close all other running software, and temporarily disable the local antivirus before starting installation.
