The Action Type step specifies which action to perform. Several different types of actions can be specified:
Display a page after the action is completed. Only one page display action can be specified since a browser can’t display multiple pages. The ‘page display’ action is built-in and cannot be deleted. In the Button Actions dialog (accessed via the “Button actions” property in the Property Sheet), select the action and then press the Edit... button to change the page display action. If you select “Navigate a specific URL within a modal pop-up’ or ‘Navigate a specify URL within a new window”, you will be allowed to specify a table control, record control or field value dropdown/list box to be updated. As a result, when record(s) is updated on the page opened in a modal pop-up or new browser window, this specified control will be refreshed to reflect changes.
Send an email. You may specify as many different ‘send email’ actions as you wish. This is useful when updating multiple different application users that an event has transpired.
